Blockages in the gas burners are often the cause and really should be dealt with by a qualified Gas Safe registered gas engineer (the replacement for CORGI) The mix of gas and air is likely to be incorrect and therefore combustion is not happening correctly. We strongly advise that you do not try to fix or rectify the problem yourself! The legislation that exists today is strict and is there to protect you.

Feel free to contact us for any tips or advice of where to go or indeed take a look at our website for further information. www.leeds-boiler-repairs.co.uk

The main reason that a boiler lights and then goes out after a few seconds is that there is some kind of problem with the combustion caused by a blockage in the gas burners or the air being mixed with it to allow the combustion to take place. You can’t fix this yourself and need a qualified Corgi registered engineer to sort it out. Don’t mess with gas boilers as carbon monoxide is odourless, colourless and kills in minutes. Get it fixed by someone who knows what they’re doing.
