My fin screws get hard to turn before the fin gets tight on the board. Whats wrong?

First, don’t force them, they may break off. Your screws are too long for the position on the board. If you dumped them out you need to put them back in the right hole. Keep in mind the longer screws go in the thickest part of the board. Screws can be cut to make them shorter BUT… make certain you don’t cut off the long ones just to get them into a shallow hole. You won’t have screws long enough for the deep holes if you cut them when they are just in the wrong place. (See Fin Installation Guide in maintenance for more information).
