My father was awarded the Walley Prize in the 1930s. What was this Prize and what was it awarded for?
Thomas Walley was principal of the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College from 1874 to 1894. The Walley Prize was awarded by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (the professional body in the UK) in memory of Principal Walley. It was awarded to the student of any UK veterinary college who obtained the highest mark in the Third Professional Examination.
