My family member receives early intervention or special education services. Do I need to enroll in the EFMP?
Yes. While special education and early intervention needs are only taken into consideration at OCONUS duty locations (excluding Alaska and Hawaii), you are still required to keep a current, active enrollment if your child is receiving these services. These needs must be documented on DD Form 2792-1, Exceptional Family Member Special Education/Early Intervention Summary. This form must be completed and signed by school personnel (if special education) or by Educational and Developmental Intervention Services (EDIS) personnel. These agencies will ensure the completed form is submitted as required. KEEP A COPY FOR YOUR RECORDS!
