Sounds like office politics such as you are not an A** kisser or some one doesn’t like you. I can speak from experience as this has happened to me in a bank. I was a receptionist, the bank was moving to an upscale more professional type atmosphere and I wasn’t that kind of person, and I was definitely not an A** kisser. I did my job correctly, was there for over two years, got merit raises and no negative reports in my personnel file. But I was let go, they stated they didn’t need me anymore, but I was replaced, but at least they had the balls not to make me train the new person. I let it go since I hated the whole bank atmosphere and it boiled down to me not sharing enough of my personal information with the right people. It was none of there business. This happened several years ago when the economy was better and I got another job after a small break. I would go after this company though, since they are making you train the new person.

http://www.thesite.org/workandstudy/work… Says a lot there. If they are taking new staff on to do the same job as you, they don’t have the right to make you redundant. They can only make you redundant if they don’t need someone to do the job you’re doing anymore, or if they run out of money. You can probably complain and win.

You can only be made redundant if you’re job isn’t needed anymore! Get yourself to a solicitor now! Kick some ***!
