My employer has advised me that I am due for a Disciplinary meeting due to Poor Level of Performance, failure to comply with procedures in staff handbook regarding illness. Its the first written warning, will my employment be terminated?

thank you for your response… i am concerned because I have the letter in front of me and part of it actually refers to the fact that there were 2 days after my illness that I did not contact them. In the staff handbook they say that unexplained absence results in dismissal. Most of my duties have been given to a new person that they hired (supposedly to work on a project!). They mention that “they want to discuss things in great detail and identify how the issues can be addressed going forward, which includes the possibility of termination of my employment”. The general tone of the missive is very negative… and the work distribution is very much different… My meeting is tomorrow afternoon at 15:00 UK time… After talking etc…, I will certainly be made aware of the decision that they would have reached…
