I had this happen to me. I would charge them the amount, amount of all fees incurred and a total of loses. For example if you had to take off work to handle this I would charge the company that. You should fix it during work hours so they have to pay you for their screw up. Why should you have to fix this on your own time when its their payrolls screw up. If it happens again I would start looking for a new job cause it could mean your current employer is having hard times just like the rest of the country.

I don’t think you can charge your employer… if you mean charge them a fee for bouncing your check. You can request that they cover any bank fees or late charges (from creditors) you incur as a result of their check bouncing. Oh, and the amount of the bounced check, of course, if they haven’t since paid it.
