My employee is receiving SSP and has agreed to work reduced hours for each of the normal days of work. Do I continue to pay SSP?
SSP is not payable for any work done in a day, even if only one hour is worked. You must pay the employee their normal pay under their contract of service for the hours worked. You may be able to pay OSP for the hours not worked depending on the rules and conditions of your scheme, or make some other discretionary arrangements for payment.
