My EFC was zero as well and FAFSA covered most of it, but not all. I have a scholarship from the college because of my grades and those two things combined cover all my tuition, fees and books. It really depends on how early you get it in and how expensive your school is. Also, I live at home so that makes a difference as well. I would not be able to afford living on campus with my financial aid and scholarship. Campus living is extremely expensive and the university I go to allows first years to live at home. Many colleges and universities require at least first-years to live on campus. That’s something you’ll have to look into. Make sure you apply for as many scholarships as you can. They give you a check for any extra scholarship money that you don’t use for tuition, etc. so you can use it throughout the year. I get a couple hundred dollars in a check and I use it to buy my books, then I put the rest in the bank and use it throughout the semester to go out, etc. I didn’t use all the
