My door is rusting all over the door surface in little spots. Whats causing this?

The problem here can usually be traced back to nearby construction of some sort. If someone has been welding and/or grinding near the door, red hot steel particles sent flying from the grinder will embed themselves into the painted door surface and will very quickly start rusting.
