Sorry but he has to wear it.It’s better to put up with the aggrivation untill your vet says it’s ok to have it taken off than risk another trip to the vet due to infection or stitches ripped open.And been there,he’ll have to wear that collar even longer…my advice,keep it on.He’ll have to adjust.

As long as you are home with the dog, or he is being supervised by someone, leave it off. It really is an annoying thing, but when you are not home, put it on. Too much licking can cause infection etc. But it’s not going to be more than a few days anyway, so just tough it out.

my dog hated it too. It is best though to prevent infection. It will only be on a few days. Your dog can stick it through. just give him something else to occupy his mind.

Weird but underwear!! Cut a hole for the tail.. Or an ace bandage wrapped around the area… My dog would not wear it either (actually he would always find a way to rip it off) so that is what our vet recommended he will have to wear the e collar for a hour a day so air can get to the stitches..

all dogs hate that elizabethan collar but they have to wear it to prevent ripping out the stitches. keep the collar on the puppy!!!!
