My doctor participates with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield and has admitting privileges at UPHS as well as at another Horizon participating hospital. How will this be processed?
The member’s doctor will remain in the Horizon network and the member can continue to see the doctor at the in-network level regardless of the location of the service. Facility charges incurred at UPHS will be submitted to IBC (Independence Blue Cross in Pennsylvania) and processed at the in-network level through the BlueCard Program.
