My doctor has suggested that I use clomiphene. What is clomiphene?
Clomiphene is the most commonly prescribed fertility medication. This pill is inexpensive and has been used for many years. While most women will ovulate with clomiphene, only about half of those women will conceive. If conception has not occurred within the first 4 months of clomiphene use, the chances of success in subsequent cycles do not justify its use. Side effects with clomiphene can be significant, including mood swings and hot flashes. The risk of twins with clomiphene is about 7%.
