My Denon car receiver is acting strangely. How do I reset it?
You can try to initialize the receiver back to factory settings. Note this will erase all the user settings. Most Denon car receivers have a small recessed reset button about 1/16″ in diameter (1.5mm) on the front panel. You may have to hunt for it. Gently press this button with ball point pen. If initialization does not help, the unit will need repair . Q: My Denon DCH-470 won’t eject and display on the head unit reads ‘RST1’ or ‘E-1’ A: That error means the unit’s mechanism is unable to eject the cartridge. That is not a user servicable problem and the changer will need to be repaired. Click here to find out to send the unit to be serviced. Q: My receiver clicks off or goes into ‘Protect’ mode. A: You may have a problem with your speakers. Try disconnecting the speaker wires from the receiver. If the receiver still goes into protection, try the reset procedure above. If that doesn’t help, the receiver will need to be repaired. Click here to find out to send the unit to be serviced. I
