My crib has a solid base and the ventilation holes on the underside of the BabeSafe cover are obstructed. Do I need to do anything about this?
Yes. Raise the BabeSafe-wrapped mattress slightly by placing a longish thin item across the crib base. For this purpose use a thin piece of wood (approximately pencil thickness) or a piece of thick string or thin rope. The item which you use to raise the mattress must not be capable of puncturing the BabeSafe cover. Place the item across the crib base so that the mattress is elevated slightly where the ventilation hole/s meet the crib base. Then tape the item into position using strong wide adhesive tape. Raising the wrapped mattress slightly above the crib base will permit ventilation of the mattress and will have no effect on the baby’s sleeping pattern.
