No, the only prerequisite for kindergarten is age. Prekindergarten is not considered a prerequisite grade level for kindergarten. 13. My children were home schooled in our previous duty assignment location. In that state, parents who home school their children have to inform the local school district of their intent to home school and have the district review the curriculum. We plan to enroll our children in the DoDDS school at our current overseas location. One child will go into 5th grade and one will go into 3rd. My daughter, who completed the home school KN program will not be 6 until 5 Sept.
