My child must take medication during school hours. What is the procedure?
A physician must authorize all prescription medication. The parent of the child or a parent-designated adult must bring all prescription medication to be taken during school hours to the Health Services Office. In order for us to dispense the medication, a parent must first complete and sign the proper district form. This is available in the school Health Services Office. Please keep all medication in its original container and label it with the student’s name. When picking up medication from the pharmacist, we encourage you to ask him/her for an additional properly labeled medication bottle. This way you can keep one bottle at home and the other at school in the Health Services Office so the school nurse can dispense it properly.
