My child keeps spraining their ankle playing hockey?
If your child has a sprained ankle and not given it enough time to heal (even though they feel fine!), re-injury is highly likely. Ligaments can take weeks to months to completely heal. This does not necessarily mean that you can’t keep playing your sport but, your rehab must continue throughout the healing process. Muscle re-education, balance, strengthening and support are all necessary requirements to help prevent future re-injury.
