Decisions about your child’s special education needs and services will be made by the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) or the Committee on Special Education (CSE). The CPSE is responsible for children with disabilities ages 3-5. The CSE is responsible for children with disabilities ages 5-21. You are a member of the Committee that will recommend special education services for your child. Other members of the Committee include individuals from the school who have a broad range of experiences planning for and/or working with students with disabilities. You will work together to develop a plan to meet your child’s unique needs. This plan, which is based on your child’s evaluation results, is called an individualized education program (IEP).
