After your child has completed The Candy 4WAY Phonics Program, the best thing he/she can do is to read the Bible to gain his core set of values and to learn how much God loves him. In addition, your child will gain comprehension and inferential thinking skills if he reads “aloud” either in front of you or jointly with you some of the following: series books such as The Childhood of Famous Americans or Little House on the Prairie Books, Magic Tree House or Chronicles of Narnia which will give your child many wonderful role models, Aesops Fables which can whet his little appetite for more reading. These sources will also provide Parents with an excellent means for teaching the rudiments of literary analysis. Magazines such as Cricket, Highlights, Nick, American Girl, as well as the daily newspapers or the backs of cereal boxes etc. provide excellent reading practice.
