There are many, many reasons for inappropriate urination in cats. All cats with urination problems should be examined. A urine sample will have to be examined. You can collect one from a clean litter box with a few pieces of litter added, or get special plastic litter from your veterinarian, or try to bring your cat in with a full bladder. IF YOUR CAT IS STRAINING TO URINATE BUT NOT PRODUCING URINE, BRING HIM TO A VETERINARIAN IMMEDIATELY!!
