Often, callers are put on-hold two or three times in a single conversation. With a 4-10 minute program, they will hear different segments each time they’re put on-hold. This also holds true for repeat callers who call frequently throughout the day or the week. Having a longer program allows them to hear different parts of your message at different times. It also allows for musical interludes that will provide “breathing room” between messages. Using too short a program can irritate callers who have to hear the same message over and over, making their hold time seem even longer. A 4-10 minute program enables you to express a variety of messages clearly and distinctly.
