My budgie usually talks and babbles quite a bit but lately she stopped talking completely. Is something wrong with her or has she just decided to stop talking?
Answer 1 When humans stop talking, I would think maybe something is wrong with the throat. Or maybe it’s psychological withdrawal, or maybe depression. Maybe a part of their brain is damaged and they can’t retrieve words. Does she make other sounds, and is she as active as average of before? At first I thought she may be sick or something but she is fit as a fiddle. She never really liked talking in the first place and more or less talked to go along with her sole mate Victor, so he would like her more. Now that there are three other budgies who do most of the talking to her, maybe she doesn’t think she needs to anymore. It’s kind of like she is content at just listening to what they have to say.
