My (brother, sister, son, daughter, mother, father) only drinks on week-ends. They don’t have a problem do they?
A. There are many types of problem drinkers. Denial plays a major part in having an illness like alcoholism and drug addiction. There are drinkers who only drink on week-ends, drinkers who drink for two or three weeks and then stop totally for a few weeks only to resume drinking again, drinkers who drink periodically for one month and stop for several months, drinkers who will only drink after five o’clock in the evening, drinkers who only drink one or two times per year and drinkers who drink every day. They all have one thing in common, whenever, wherever, they pick up a drink they cannot safely predict the outcome. It is not how much they drink, when they drink, where they drink, or what they drink, it is what alcohol does to them when they drink it.
