My BPH Pen makes a buzzing sound and the nib doesn heat properly. Whats wrong?

From my experience this could be one of two things. A) Check that you have the nib nestled securely in the double-slotted stainless-steel nut housing and that the nuts are tightened correctly. If the nut isn’t correctly tightened the current won’t flow freely. You may hear a buzzing sound, (especially when the nib is in contact with the burning surface), and the nib won’t heat correctly. B) Make sure that the 2 posts, (that hold the nuts), aren’t touching. Gently lever the posts apart to correct the problem.
