My bestfriends mom just got served with Divorce papers. What should she do now?
The woman needs to find herself a good divorce lawyer and take her divorce papers to them so they can see what is in them. It is not up to her husband whether or not she is to get alimony. The alimony is to help the woman until she is able to get on her feet. If the woman thinks that her husband is cheating then she can always hire an investigator but they do not come cheap. She needs to get everything that she can. I do not know of any websites to look.
Tell her to ask around and find a good divorce lawyer! It should be someone she feels comfortable with also! She can then plan what to do next with her lawyer… Divorce laws are different in each state and only a lawyer will know what applies and what doesn’t. Tell her good luck and there is a wonderful life to behold after divorce!!!!!
