A funeral home can not hold a body for ransom, such as a funeral bill. Most of the time in this type of accident, Victims Services will pay for a funeral. I can not believe that a funeral is doing this, and they can honestly get sued for it. A funeral home is not allowed to pick-up, embalm, or do anything to the deceased without the next of kin’s authorization, which in this case is his mother. I would contact the local Victims Advocate Services office and ask them for help, and see what they can do you for. I am honestly sorry for your and your best friends loss, I do pray that everything will come together for all of you!
