My BBT curve shows a drop in temperature on one day about a week after ovulation, around the time of implantation. Could the implantation dip mean that I am pregnant?
You are correct in assuming that implantation of the fertilized egg happens on average about a week after ovulation. There is insufficient scientific evidence to correlate certain symptoms, such as changes in the temperature curve (a dip at the time of implantation — ‘implantation dip’) or cramps, spotting, or a third rise in temperature (‘triphasic curve’) to implantation or pregnancy. This does not mean that they don’t exist, though. Many pregnancy BBT charts do not have typical temperature changes like dips or triphasic patterns. And many triphasic charts or charts with dips turn out not to be pregnancy charts.
