You shouldn’t need to give Motrin if you’ve given Tylenol. Generally that’s only done with severe fever and in older babies. Motrin is a different drug than Tylenol and works differently which is why its sometimes given alternately … but again ONLY if your doctor specifically said to. Generally, for a minor fever associated with vaccinations your little one won’t need Tylenol at all unless the fever is making her uncomfortable and unable to eat or sleep. A fever is a natural reaction to the shots and is actually a good thing, it shows the baby’s immune system in reacting the way it should. Good luck to you and your little one!

For my daughters 2 month vaccinations, I was told to give her infant tylenol .4ml ever 4 hours for the first day/night.

no–do not give motrin to a 2 month old!! Tylenol is fine, just follow your doctors dosing instructions.
