If the aquarium is new, under about 6 months, the problem is most likely an algae bloom. Fish are not harmed by this, the only problem really is that it looks bad. This last anywhere from a week to a couple months. The only way to solve this is by using a UV sterilizer. But UV sterilizers are $80 at the least. If you can’t afford one, don’t feed the fish as much, and use the aquarium lights as little as you can, or better, turn them off and just have a lamp in the room to light the aquarium. But turn on the lights while your feed the fish. This should be no more than ten minutes a feeding. If the aquarium is established, around over 6 months, the problem could be from multiple things. You could be having an algae bloom. The cloudiness could come from over feeding and/or too much light. To solve this, do what is said above.
