No, it is not- the red tape is the seal, we added it as a precautionary measure to ensure that the bottle would not leak. It is possible, and it has happened before, that when we put the red tape on it, we put it on so tight that the seal appears broken, but it is perfectly fine. The way you know if the cherry IS compromised is if it smells like it is fermented.
