My anti-syphon valve cracked – why?
The V4 or V5 anti-syphon valve will crack around the top as a result of excess weight on the faucet assembly or from stress caused by a sharp pull on the drip system tubing. This is part of the design. The anti-syphon valve should break before your bib faucet breaks. It’s far less expensive to replace the anti-syphon valve than to replace a broken bib faucet that may result from the same stresses.
