The MIDI may be connected or selected incorrectly. Make sure the MIDI output of the controlling computer sequencer or MIDI keyboard is connected to the MIDIJACK with a known good MIDI cable. Do not use the MIDI through function on any MIDI device, ever. Make sure the MIDI channel is correctly selected to be the same as the channel on the MIDI controller.
