My aileron trim is not working. Whats going on?
The early aileron trimmers have a poor method of spring retention. This makes repair of these early trimmers very difficult. What often happens is the spring and retention is a dimple in the inner diameter. When the spring is over tightened and jumps out, it creates a groove that when reinstalled, will cause it to easily jump out and fail again. The new trimmers have a broached slot and a slightly different style spring end, preventing the problem with the earlier trimmers.
