Yes you can change your hard disk very easily. Go to any computer accessory store and bargain for a HDD for laptop 2.5″ ones. As the prices of Hard disks are coming down day by day so you shouldn’t have problem finding the right capacity one that fits your budget from a lots of vendors like Seagate, Western Digital, Samsung, etc. There isn’t much difference in cost between SATA and PATA versions. So, that will not make much of a difference for you. You will just need to check which version your laptop supports which you can simply do by checking your previous damaged hdd’s sticker if it was a sata or pata version. And you can do all this by yourself without even taking it to the service centre and so save the service charges.
