My 84 SVO has a factory AM/FM radio with cassette but it does not have A/C and has manual windows and manual locks. Is my SVO a Comp prep (Competition prepared) model?
A. No ,The early SVOs could be ordered any way the buyer liked so these are known as “option delete” cars. The official “comp prep” optioned cars had no radio or antenna and had block off plates in the dash and on the fender. Comp prep cars have no radio or A/C, manual windows and manual locks. Comp prep cars could be ordered with Leather interior and you could also opt for the Bi-wing or get the Bi-wing delete option. By ’85 and ’86, there were no longer choices on this as everything became standard and the comp prep option was strictly, no power windows or locks, no A/C and no radio. The comp preps also have different spring codes on the door data sticker.
