I have a rottweiler and he is now 4. When we first got him he was exactly like this and NEVER barked if he heard the door. he only started barking when he was between 1-2years of age. I would say the way your puppy is now is good as you wouldn’t want him to hurt a member of you family. My rotty is still good and can be left to play in the garden with kids but is very protective and howling barking and growling if anyone walks past the garden gate. Rottweilers are very protective over their family. He may become more protective when he gets older. I only have one problem with mine and he just doesn’t really like other dog but is good because I can walk him off the lead with dogs around and he won’t run off. Make sure you train now though or it could be to late.

nope its not that odd because I have a 1 year old Rottweiler and he doesnt fight with other dogs he doesnt pee in the house he doesnt growl at anybody or aggressive.and thats because dogs have diifrent personalities than others and also its because we train our dog right and im sure you do too! and im sure he can stand up for himself and be a little more protective at home but he was taught to not growl at people he knows and also he since hes 6 months old he really doesnt understand the growling thing but yeah im sure he =will growl when hes older but when he does you have to scold him because if he growls, its gonna evolve into an attack one day and you wont be able to control him.so i think your better off with him not growling and just keep him the way he isbecause he sounds like a great dog to have!
