The EVOLT E-500 has an ANTI-SHOCK function that diminishes camera shake caused by vibrations when the mirror flips up. This feature can be useful in astrophotography, photo microscopy, or other applications where a very slow shutter speed is used and camera vibration needs to be minimized. The interval between the mirror flipping up and the shutter opening can be pre-set from one second to 30 seconds via the Camera 2 menu. This menu is represented by an icon of a camera followed by the number 2.
