My 2004 Kia Spectra drivers-side back wheel keeps locking up, any thoughts on why?
The temperature has been very cold and one day driving home the wheel just completely stopped spinning in the middle of a busy rode. I skidded my way to the nearest parking lot. Eventually I put the car in reverse, went back 10 feet and then tried drive again. Amazingly, it worked. However, it faultered again about a block from home, and the same thing happened when I tried to go around the block a little later. Amazingly, putting it in reverse seems to fix the problem for a limited amount of time. The car has been really good to me overall, and I haven’t had any recent work done on it. The only real change in variables was the temperature. Could something have frozen, or a block of ice be locking something up? Any advice appreciated. Thanks. No, it’s an automatic. I wish it was a 5-speed 😀 A: You probably park your car outside and maybe it was precipitating when you parked the last time and it got on the warm wheel and then froze and caused things to get stiff or else you went thru a
