I had all 4 widom teeth extracted (impacted) on 2/20. I developed a dry socket on one side (lower). I have a very large hole there, and the oral surgeon gave me a syringe to wash the area out. It doesn’t seem to be getting smaller very quickly. How long do these holes typically take to close. There doesn’t appear to be any infection, and there is only a little pink tinge when it is washed out. The pain is minimal now, although I’m sure my smoking isn’t helping it to heal as quickly as if I didn’t smoke. Do I need to return to see the oral surgeon or just bide my time for the tissue to fill in the hole?
