Must emergency vents for indoor tanks terminate outside of buildings?

0

A. Yes. Part 160.90 of the Administrative Rules requires that emergency venting must be installed in accordance with NFPA Standard #30. NFPA #30 in turn, requires that both normal and emergency venting terminate outside of a building, except when serving tanks that contain Class III-B liquids. Therefore, all indoor storage tanks, other than those storing exclusively Class III-B liquids, must have regular and emergency vent piping terminate outside of the building.
