Must all students/groups provide the judges with a 500-word process paper explaining the research process?

For all categories EXCEPT the Historical Paper. Each student/group who produces a performance, documentary, web site, or exhibit must prepare a 500-word paper explaining the research and development process, identifying the most important resource, and giving the reason behind why the topic was chosen and how it relates to the annual theme. Students who compete as a group in a performance, documentary, web site or exhibit will need to submit only one 500-word process paper. All of the students in the group must participate in compiling this 500-word paper. The names of all of the participants must appear on that process paper’s title sheet.
