Must all Americorps members receive their living allowance and health benefits through the legal applicant? Can members be covered by the partner agencies with whom they are placed?
Partner organizations may directly cover the living allowances and/or health benefits of members that are placed at their sites. In this situation, the partner agency must maintain documentation of all expenses (living allowance, FICA, WC, and health insurance) to substantiate either match or reimbursement. The expenses must be aggregated at the legal applicant level before submission to CaliforniaVolunteers.
