Must a contractor always include automobile liability coverage on his certificate of insurance?

Almost always. That’s because a contractor doing work on our premises uses transportation to reach our premises, and to transport tools, supplies, and materials. If the contractor is involved in an accident while doing business on our behalf, we could be held liable. But, if that contractor has provided us with a certificate of insurance showing automobile liability (and naming MCCCD as additional insured), the contractor’s insurance company would handle the entire claim, including all losses.
