Elevator helpers, including mechanics, who do not possess a certificate of competency may construct, maintain, service and repair any vertical conveyance under the direct supervision of a certificate of competency holder who may also be a certified elevator technician or certified elevator inspector. “Direct supervision” is defined in Section 61C-5.008, Florida Administrative Code.
