Mrs Bennet & Mr Collins are both comical characters in the novel Pride & Prejudice, what makes them comical?
mrs. bennet is a seriously crazy person,(in my opinion) who is not very clever, and so does not understand her husband’s quick wit… she also very prejudiced and makes opinions about people without getting to know them or trying to understand them…. plus some of her opinions are rather funny and her reactions to things being very typical– “ohh, my poor nerves!” also her constant obsession with getting all her daughters married off… mr. collins is another dim-witted person who practices how to compliment people beforehand and does it at situations that he feels are necessary…. often making lizzy bennet want to laugh at his stupidity… he is also being such a door-mat to lady catherine and all that constant praising about her greatness and the greatness of rosings park make him one hell of a comedian… also his manners are so peculiar…. at any rate they both absurd and annoying at times… i also think that we find them as comical because the author has described them like th
