STEPHEN SMITH: Well, again, I think it’s worth just making some remarks about Durban Review so that people understand where we are both in terms of the conference and the processes. Of course, the Durban Review is a conference about anti-racism, a conference about anti-discrimination, and the first review conference was, as the name suggests, held in Durban in 2001. The Australian view following that conference was that while a number of positive things were discussed at that conference, in the end the conference became, regrettably, an anti-Jewish, anti-Semitic harangue. And as a consequence of that analysis, Australia has not actively taken part in any of the preparatory work for the Durban II conference until very recently.
