Bowman: The fact that I am here, alive and well, seems to prove that there is a post-judicial afterlife. When I reached the mandatory retirement age I did not go quietly but I had no choice. I thoroughly enjoyed my life on the bench and I did not feel that I was ready to retire. Fortunately, Fraser Milner Casgrain offered me a position as counsel. I have been very busy working with lawyers in the firm’s large tax group in its various offices in Canada preparing for trials and appeals and giving opinions on litigious or tax planning matters.
