There is currently heavy competition between HD-DVD and Blu-ray to be the dominant format in the HD-movie business. The individual movie studios have chosen sides in this, some support Blu-ray, some support HD-DVD, some supports both formats. Currently, Universal and Paramount are currently only releasing their HD-movies on HD-DVD. Paramount recently chose to become HD-DVD exclusive. Major studios that support Blu-ray: Warner Bros. Disney (Buena Vista) Fox Lionsgate MGM Sony Pictures Major studios that support HD-DVD: Paramount Warner Bros.
