This identification is used on the Multifan motor only. It is not used on the Mf-Flex motor line. The alpha-numeric designation is on the the motor identification plate on the motor end cap. Using the example, 4E35: RPM50 Hz60 Hz2 pole300032004 pole150016006 pole75010008 pole600800 First number is the number of poles in the motor winding. This will also give you the approximate motor and fan speed. First letter is the electricity. E is single phase. D is three phase. Last 2 or 3 numbers represent the fan diameter size in centimeters. 20 = 8″ 25 =10″ 30 =12″ 35 =14″ 40 =16″ 45 =18″ 50 =20″ 56 =22″ 63 =24″ 71 =28″ 89 =36″ 92 =36″ So the 4E35 is the motor for a 1,600 rpm, single phase electricity, 14″ fan.
